Modern LED lighting
LED lighting keeps gaining ground. In contemporary interior schemes it is a hugely popular choice, and lighting cornices are often chosen not only for their rich aesthetics but also for their excellent technical properties. LEDs, a low-energy light source, are diodes characterised by low electricity consumption, a long service life and the ability to adjust the colour of the light to suit individual needs. Thanks to these advantages, spectacular LED lighting has become a firm favourite in modern residential and commercial spaces. LED light sources offer many benefits over traditional light sources:
- Energy savings : LEDs use far less energy than traditional bulbs or fluorescent tubes, which translates into lower electricity bills.
- Kind to the environment : LEDs contain no hazardous substances such as mercury, which is common in some fluorescent tubes. What is more, their long service life means they generate less waste.
- Fast response time : LEDs light up the instant they are switched on, without the delay that is often noticeable with fluorescent tubes.
- Dimmable : Many LEDs can be dimmed smoothly, so the light level can be matched to individual needs.
- Choice of colours : LED lighting is available in a wide range of colours, from warm tones to cool shades of white, as well as in multicolour versions.
- Compact size and versatility : LEDs are small and can be used in the most varied applications, from tiny indicators to large light panels.
- No UV radiation : LEDs emit no ultraviolet radiation, which is a real benefit when it comes to protecting objects liable to fade under it.
- Low heat output : LED lighting generates less heat than traditional bulbs, which makes it more energy efficient and safe to touch. By using spectacular LED lighting we not only give our interior a unique character, we also save on our bills, help protect the environment and enjoy a technology that offers superior quality and comfort in use. One of the most visually attractive ways of using LEDs indoors is the wall cornice combined with LED strips. This combination becomes not only a practical source of light but also a decorative feature that brings elegance and a contemporary feel to the space. An LED lighting cornice matched to the style of our room can become a real showpiece in any interior, underlining its unique character.
Mardom Decor ceiling lighting cornices
Innovation and timeless classic in one? Of course :) Just take a look at the Mardom Decor ceiling lighting cornices. Drawing on many years of experience, close observation of the market and analysis of our customers' needs, we have developed the innovative LightGuard® technology. In the past, lighting cornices often suffered from individual LEDs showing through the surface as dots, which frequently called for extra aluminium tape and made fitting more complicated. Thanks to LightGuard® technology, these drawbacks have been eliminated. We use specialist treatment agents and have optimised the structure of our mouldings so that the light from the LED strip spreads beautifully around the LED cornice, creating a subtle glow with none of the unwanted dotting from the diodes. The Mardom Decor range is broad and includes a variety of moulding designs - from minimalist models to richly ornamented, decorative ones.
Our LED cornice is also available in different sizes - from 4 x 4 x 200 cm, through the popular 8,5 x 8,5 x 200 cm and 2,3 x 10 x 200 cm models, up to 4 x 15 x 200 cm. By choosing Mardom Decor lighting cornices you are investing in quality, innovation and an outstanding visual effect that suits rooms of every size.

Can't decide which ceiling lighting cornices to choose?
Browse the various options available in our online shop, pick the models that appeal to you and order free samples! The Mardom Decor range includes two versions of ceiling lighting cornice: Flex, with a flexible structure, and the traditional version with a rigid structure. The Mardom Decor Flex cornices deserve particular attention, as their flexible properties make them ideal for curved or irregular surfaces. The flexible side of the cornice hugs the wall perfectly, allowing it to be fitted even in especially awkward buildings. When installing it in your home, however, do bear in mind that the flexible version, because of technological limitations, does not include LightGuard®.
Ceiling lighting cornice for the bathroom, kitchen and living room
Modern decorative solutions have to be not only good-looking but also functional and resistant to changing atmospheric conditions and various external factors. Mardom Decor cornices meet these criteria perfectly. Made from the exclusive PolyForce polymer, they stand out for their exceptional resistance to moisture and to UV rays. That makes them ideal for every space - from a sun-drenched living room to a steamy kitchen or bathroom. In addition, PolyForce® material contains special additives that increase the density and durability of the cornice, guaranteeing complete resistance to water. This means that even accidental splashes or frequent cleaning will not affect how long the cornice lasts. The problem of cornices delaminating under the effect of moisture, common with other materials such as MDF, is ruled out entirely here. Mardom Decor decorative cornices keep their beautiful appearance for many years, whatever the conditions in the room.

Which styles do LED lighting cornices suit?
Thanks to their versatility, LED lighting cornices sit beautifully in the decor of almost any space. They offer an elegant way of bringing out the character of a room whatever the dominant style. In a modern style, where minimalism and simplicity come first, ceiling lighting cornices with simple, geometric shapes are an excellent choice. They harmonise with the strict, pared-back forms that define this look.
For lovers of the classic, versions with more decorative profiles and subtle curves are the perfect complement to spaces inspired by traditional European architectural styles. In interiors inspired by the Hamptons style, lighting cornices with simple yet elegant shapes will perfectly underline the luxury and freshness typical of this coastal look. It is worth pointing out that whatever you choose, LED lighting cornices are a contemporary addition to any space, adding not just light but refined style.

How do you create LED wall lighting?
LED lighting cornices are an excellent way of bringing out the character of your interior in a subtle yet spectacular way. The Mardom Decor cornice offers many fitting options that make a unique visual effect possible. One popular solution is to fit the lighting cornice along the line where the ceiling meets the wall. As well as creating a beautiful halo of light around the ceiling, this type of installation can also be a practical way of concealing curtain rails or other elements. Another option is to place the LED lighting cornice at about 1/3 of the wall height, which gives the interior a dynamic character and emphasises the vertical structure of the room. The LED lighting cornice can also be fitted around alcoves or wall shelves. This arrangement highlights those features while creating an interesting sense of depth. Another idea is to use the LED cornice as a horizontal accent at floor level, which brings warmth and a welcoming feel to the interior while underlining the contours of the room. The multi-purpose Mardom Decor lighting cornices are perfectly suited to this. The various wall lighting cornice options available mean you can tailor the lighting to your own needs and taste, creating a harmonious composition with the rest of the scheme.

How do you fit a lighting cornice?
Fitting lighting cornices has become an essential part of modern interior design. Ceiling lighting cornices, especially those based on LED technology, offer not only practical lighting solutions but also an attractive finishing touch in any room. Combining LED lighting cornices with traditional decorative mouldings opens up new possibilities in interior decoration, bringing the classic and the modern together. If you are wondering how to fit them properly, here is a step-by-step guide to installing lighting cornices.
- Choice of material: make sure the ceiling cornice you have chosen is suitable for installation with an LED strip. Ideally it should have a profiled channel or a space designed for sticking the LED strip in place.
- Preparing the surface: the surface the cornice is to be glued to must be clean, dry and smooth. Any unevenness and residues of old paint or wallpaper should be sanded down.
- Fitting the cornice: apply mounting adhesive to the back of the cornice, then stick it to the wall where you want the lighting effect. We recommend using Mardom Fix Pro or Mardom Max. Fix the cornice to the wall and to the ceiling, making sure it is straight and at the right distance from the ceiling. Decide in advance where the LED strip will go - usually just behind the edge of the cornice, aimed at the ceiling.
- Fitting the LED strip: once the cornice is secure, you can start installing the LED strip. LED strips are usually self-adhesive. Peel the backing off the adhesive layer and stick the strip in the intended place on the cornice. Make sure the diodes are pointing in the right direction (usually towards the ceiling) to achieve the lighting effect you want.
- Connecting the power supply: LED strips must be connected to a suitable power supply. Follow the LED strip manufacturer's instructions to connect it correctly to the power source and to the controller, where there is one.
- Test: switch the lighting on and check that everything is working properly and that you are happy with the result. If all is in order, you can enjoy spectacular, elegant lighting in your interior! This fitting method combines the traditional look of decorative mouldings with the modern accent of LED lighting, creating a unique atmosphere in the room.
