Our planed selection

  • Scandinavian spruce, AB grade — 4.5×4.5, 6.9×6.9, 7×7, 9×9 cm — visible-face quality, upper face virtually free of black knots.
  • Spruce, BC grade — 3.2×3.2 cm — concealed or secondary structural uses.
  • Thermally modified abachi square section 4×4 cm, natural S4S — decking accessories, decorative structures, light outdoor fit-out.

AB and BC grades : what is the visible difference ?

The AB grade guarantees a visible face with virtually no black knots, ideal for joinery or exposed fit-out work.

The BC grade allows more knots and imperfections — for concealed uses, internal structure and sub-structures.

For load-bearing structure : see KVH or BSH

If your project involves load-bearing loads (framing, habitable flooring, roof structure), go for KVH C24 (CE marking, certified grade) or BSH GL24 for long spans. The AB/BC planed timbers in this category are intended for secondary uses.

Frequently asked questions

No — for load-bearing structures (framing, habitable floors, roof trusses) you need timber certified to C24 as a minimum and CE marked. See KVH C24 or BSH GL24. AB/BC planed timber is intended for secondary uses (fitting out, joinery, decorative structures).
AB: for any exposed piece — a clean face with virtually no knots. BC: for concealed pieces, budget uses and internal sub-structures.
Yes, thermally modified abachi is rated for modified use class 3 — suitable outdoors under cover (pergolas, privacy screens, decking accessories). Avoid direct contact with the ground.
