Larch is a noble, slow-growing softwood that is naturally rot-resistant out of ground contact thanks to its high density. An excellent alternative to tropical hardwoods for premium decking: no CITES, no biocides, and a service life of 20 to 25 years.

Siberian larch (Larix sibirica) is the densest larch — 590 to 750 kg/m³ — a guarantee of mechanical strength and natural durability in use class 3. Its tight grain gives boards that stay very stable once laid.
Canadian larch (Larix occidentalis) offers a slightly more orange tone, a comparable density and a PEFC traceability that is often easier to document. Ideal for markets with strict environmental requirements.
Larch greys naturally under UV within 12 to 24 months. This patina is sought after in contemporary architecture. To keep the original orange tone, apply a decking oil every 2 to 3 years. To return to the initial tone after greying, a wood brightener is enough.
