KVH C24 (Konstruktionsvollholz) is finger-jointed solid timber kiln-dried to below 18 % moisture content, planed on all four faces and machined to exact dimensions. It is the standard choice for timber framing, floor joisting, rafters and conventional load-bearing structures.
BSH GL24 (Brettschichtholz, glued laminated timber) is made by bonding spruce laminations with the grain running parallel. It allows long spans and large sections (up to 24 × 40 cm) — ideal for exposed roof structures, portal frames, main beams and mezzanines.
Since 2022, RE2020 has set a threshold for the Ic construction index that bio-based materials make it possible to meet. RE2028, which applies from 1st January 2026 to new housing and offices, lowers that threshold to 6.5 kg CO₂/yr/m² for multi-unit housing (vs 8 in 2025).
To get ahead of RE2028, engineering consultants recommend 100 kg of bio-based materials per m². A roof structure built entirely from KVH/BSH spruce stores up to 1 tonne of CO₂ equivalent per m³ — a major low-carbon lever.
The 62 BSH GL184 product lines cover sections from 6×12 to 24×40 cm (S4S profile, visible Si grade). The 63 KVH C184 product lines cover the common sections from 6×10 to 12×16 cm in NSI or Si grade.
Every piece we supply is Scandinavian spruce, PEFC-certifiable on request, with mandatory CE marking.
