Glued-laminated timber (GLT)
BSH (Brettschichtholz, or GL24 glulam) is produced by gluing together solid spruce laminations with parallel grain. The assembly allows very long members (up to 13 m) with a mechanical strength higher than solid timber. Ideal for exposed roof structures and industrial portal frames.

Si visual grade, S4S and applications
All our BSH beams are Si grade (visual quality) — a carefully finished look for exposed roof structures. S4S profile (planed on 4 sides) with chamfered arrises.
Typical applications: exposed mezzanines, main beams, modernised traditional roof structures, agricultural barn portal frames, large-span pergolas, timber canopies.
Carbon performance and RE2020/RE2028
Glued laminated timber qualifies for RE2020 targets and makes it possible to anticipate the RE2028 thresholds (Ic 6.5 kg CO₂/year/m² from January 1st, 2026). One m³ of BSH stores around 700 to 800 kg of CO₂ equivalent over its entire service life.

Standard lengths up to 13 m; longer pieces are available on request through finger-jointing. This is a decisive advantage of glulam over solid timber, which is generally limited to 6 m.
Yes — that is its typical use in Si visual quality. Glue lines are almost invisible and the surfaces are planed. A clear wood stain or a matt varnish protects against UV next to large glazed openings.
The figures indicate the characteristic bending strength in N/mm². GL24h = 24 N/mm², the standard for residential and commercial projects. GL28c = 28 N/mm², for very high loads or exceptional spans.
Yes — it is one of the best-performing materials for meeting the RE2028 thresholds. Biogenic carbon storage plus a lightweight structure make it possible to reduce concrete foundations, for a double carbon benefit.
