Which mosaic for which area of the bathroom?

  • Shower floor & tray — go for a non-slip mini, hexagon or penny-round format: it follows the drainage fall and multiplies the grout lines for better grip.
  • Walls & partitionsglass paste and porcelain stoneware in large mesh-mounted sheets, easy to lay and to maintain.
  • Splashback & vanity tophexagon, herringbone or arabesque for a graphic focal point.
  • Shower niche — a contrasting mosaic (gold, silver, marble) highlights the recess.

Our materials and finishes

The selection covers glass (the widest choice), porcelain stoneware, marble (Carrara, white), travertine, natural stone and metal/brass (Allumi collection: gold, silver, hexagon, pill shapes). Gloss, matt and mirror-effect finishes, in white, beige, black, blue and gold tones.

How to lay bathroom mosaic tiles

  1. Waterproofing — apply an under-tile waterproofing system (SEL) or a waterproof matting to wet areas before laying.
  2. Adhesivewhite C2 adhesive mortar, back-buttered (double application) on walls and on the shower floor.
  3. Laying the mesh sheets — align the 30 × 30 cm sheets edge to edge, bed them in with a float, then check the joints.
  4. Groutingwater-repellent grout, ideally epoxy in the shower area (waterproof, mould-resistant).
  5. Finishing — remove the cement haze once dry.

Go for a mini, hexagon or penny-round anti-slip format. Small formats follow the fall of the shower tray and provide more joints, and therefore better grip. Treated glass and porcelain stoneware are perfectly suited to wet areas.
Glass offers the widest choice of colours and is easy to clean; porcelain stoneware is highly durable and barely porous; marble and travertine give an upmarket finish but need sealing (porous natural stone).
In the shower area, choose a water-repellent epoxy grout: watertight and resistant to mould and cleaning products. A water-repellent cement grout is fine for walls out of the direct spray.
On a waterproofed, flat substrate, apply a white C2 adhesive mortar using the double-buttering method, lay the 30 × 30 cm sheets edge to edge, press them home with a float, then grout once the adhesive has cured.
A standard 30 × 30 cm sheet covers about 0.09 m², which works out at roughly 11 sheets per m². Check the exact coverage on each product page and allow 10% for cuts and wastage.
Stock items are delivered within 10 working days in France. Special references (marble, medallions, natural stone) take 3 to 6 weeks. Delivery across Europe is available.
