Where can you lay floor mosaic?
- Walk-in shower floor — small anti-slip format that follows the fall towards the drain.
- Bathroom & hallway — porcelain stoneware rated R10 minimum, built for foot traffic.
- Living room & kitchen — marble or natural stone for a high-end floor.
Slip resistance: which rating?
For a dry floor, aim for R10. For a shower or an area that gets wet regularly, choose R11 (or even R11 plus a barefoot rating of class B/C).
Laying floor mosaic
- A stable, flat substrate (screed or levelling compound), with a liquid waterproofing membrane (SEL) in the shower area.
- C2 tile adhesive, back-buttered, matched to the format.
- Lay the mesh-backed sheets, then check the flatness and the fall.
- Water-repellent grout (epoxy in a shower).
- Clean and seal the natural stone if required.
