Why choose an artificial green wall?

Biophilic look: a soothing natural effect and immediate decorative value.

No maintenance: no watering, no pruning, no light required.

Durability: 10-15 years indoors, 5-8 years outdoors when exposed.

ERP compliance: M1 fire-retardant models for offices, restaurants and hotels.

Fits any wall: onto plasterboard, concrete, brick or existing tiles.

How to install an artificial green wall in 5 steps

  1. Prepare the substrate — The wall must be flat, dry and clean. For fitting onto a frame, fix vertical battens 50 cm apart.
  2. Measure and set out — Measure the area and work out how many 1m² panels are needed. Allow +10 % for cuts.
  3. Cut to size if needed — Using secateurs or a utility knife, cut the backing mesh following the setting-out. The grid pattern makes precision easy.
  4. Fix the panels — Screw or clip the panels onto the battens. For bonded installation, use a UV-resistant exterior-grade adhesive sealant.
  5. Blend the foliage — Rearrange the foliage at the joints to hide the edges. Flowers or decorative elements can be added.

An artificial wall does away with watering, daylight and heavy maintenance — it lasts 10-15 years and is ideal for spaces without natural light. A living wall delivers a genuine biophilic effect and purified air, but calls for an irrigation system and suitable lighting. The cost per m² is similar.
The M1 classification (French standard) means non-flammable. The material is treated to delay ignition and limit the spread of fire. It is mandatory in public buildings (ERP — Établissements Recevant du Public): restaurants, offices and hotels.
10 to 15 years indoors with no direct UV exposure. 5 to 8 years outdoors in full sun (UV-resistant polyethylene models hold up better). How well the green colour is retained depends on light exposure.
Very little: dusting 2-3 times a year with a soft cloth or a soft brush. Outdoors, a gentle jet of water removes any dirt. No watering and no chemicals.
Yes — plasterboard, concrete, brick, timber or existing tiling. Check that the substrate can take the weight (usually 3-5 kg/m² for clip-together panels). Fitting on battens is recommended so that air can circulate behind.
