Thermally modified Scandinavian pine remains our main species — a good balance of durability and price. Thermally modified oak is denser and more durable, for a high-end finish. Thermally modified abachi is light (an African timber), ideal for suspended structures.
Thermally modified timber is environmentally friendly (biocide-free) and dimensionally stable (swelling reduced by 40-60 %), and it is approved for BE/LU. Pressure-treated timber is cheaper but contains chemical salts.
Yes — European oak slats, heat treated at 200 °C. The treatment darkens the colour towards a chocolate brown and stabilises the fibres. A very fine premium finish.
