Heat-treated timber
Thermally modified timber (also called retified wood) is obtained by heat modification at 200 °C under steam, without any chemicals. Our offer mainly covers Scandinavian pine, oak, abachi (Ayous) and brushed thermo-treated Scandinavian spruce.

Thermo-S or Thermo-D: which one should you choose?
Thermo-S (Stability) — geared to dimensional stability, use class 2-3, dry interiors, sheltered façades, furniture under a canopy.
Thermo-D (Durability) — geared to biological durability, modified use class 3, exposed decking, exterior cladding, outdoor ceilings.
Most of our range is Thermo-D Scandinavian pine — the right balance of durability and looks.
Four thermally modified species
- Scandinavian pine — our main species: decking boards, cladding, panelling, square sections.
- Thermally modified oak — 2.6 × 9.5 cm S4S slats, natural grade, dense premium finish.
- Thermally modified abachi (Ayous) — lightweight African timber, boards and slats 1.8-1.9 cm.
- Brushed thermally modified Scandinavian spruce — wide decking board 2.6 × 18.5 cm, natural grade.

Timber that has undergone a thermal modification at 200 °C under steam, with no chemicals. The process alters the physico-chemical composition of the wood: resistant to fungi and insects, and dimensionally stable.
Scandinavian pine (the majority), oak, abachi (Ayous) and Scandinavian spruce. All in Thermo-D, modified use class 3, for outdoor use.
Yes — no biocides, no chemicals, and compostable at the end of its life. One of the most environmentally responsible alternatives to pressure-treated pine and imported tropical hardwoods.
15 to 25 years in modified use class 3, depending on exposure, maintenance and installation. Comparable to a quality tropical hardwood, without the CITES issues.
Thermo-D is modified use class 3 — not class 4 (prolonged direct ground contact). Always raise it on pedestals or shims.
